Social Studies

At Encino Charter, students in grades K–5 use the McGraw Hill IMPACT Social Studies program to explore history, geography, civics, and economics in ways that are engaging and meaningful. The program is aligned with California History–Social Science Standards and helps students build critical thinking, reading, and writing skills as they learn about communities, cultures, and the world around them.

Through interactive lessons, primary sources, and real-world connections, students learn to ask questions, think like historians, and understand their roles as informed citizens. The IMPACT curriculum encourages discussion, inquiry, and collaboration—preparing students to be thoughtful, active participants in their communities and beyond.
