At Encino Charter, we believe all students, including those with disabilities, should learn and grow together. Inclusion means students with disabilities are educated alongside their peers in general education classrooms as much as possible and are part of all aspects of school life
We support inclusive practices by:
- Creating schedules that allow general and special education teachers to co-plan and work together,
- Using Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans to provide the right supports and accommodations,
- Offering ongoing training for staff and using proven strategies like Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Mastery Learning and Grading, and English Language Development (ELD).
We work closely with families and staff to monitor progress and make sure each student has access to grade-level content, support services, and enrichment opportunities. The IEP team helps decide the best learning environment and supports for each child, which may include co-taught classes, learning center support, or classroom accommodations.
