As of Jan. 11, 2:53 p.m.
Conditions have improved for a majority of areas across the Los Angeles region. The District is working tirelessly on cleanup efforts and is in constant collaboration with local authorities to restore normal school schedules and instruction as quickly as possible. However, there are some schools in the highest impact areas that may remain closed due to adverse conditions. Impacted schools will notify families and employees.
We are diligently working to ensure a smooth transition for the reopening of schools, including employee assistance, securing substitute coverage, and managing other logistical challenges. We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate what may be a non-traditional time.
Los Angeles Unified remains committed to working with our community partners to provide our families and employees with childcare, transportation, mental health resources, and other essential services.
We will continue assessing conditions and will provide a final decision on the status of schools and offices tomorrow, Sunday, Jan. 12. School principals will contact their community directly.
