📅 No School Monday
There will be no school on Monday, September 21. School will resume on Tuesday, September 22.
To our Encino families observing Yom Kippur, we wish you a meaningful and peaceful day of reflection and observance.
⏰ Every School Day Matters!
Regular, on-time attendance is important to student learning and success. Please make every effort to have your child at school, on time, every day, for the entire instructional day.
Whenever possible, please schedule appointments, vacations, and other activities outside of school hours. Early checkouts mean missed instructional time, including important learning that takes place at the end of the school day.
Thank you for helping our Encino Explorers build strong attendance habits and make every minute of learning count!
🛡️ Safety Drills
At Encino Charter, student safety is always our top priority. We regularly practice emergency procedures so students and staff know what to do and can respond calmly and safely.
This Wednesday, September 23, students will participate in a Lockdown Drill. Students will practice how to remain safe and secure inside their classrooms. These drills help prepare our school community for situations when it is safest for students and staff to remain indoors and secured in place.

🤝 Charter Leadership Council
Congratulations to our newly elected Charter Leadership Council (CLC) parent representatives: Christine Hower, Larry Fantroy, and Steven Mizrahie! Thank you for volunteering your time and leadership to represent our Encino Charter community.

📚 Midpoint Progress Notices
As we reach the midpoint of the reporting period, Unsatisfactory Progress Notices will be sent home this Friday, September 25, to families of students who are currently at risk of receiving an unsatisfactory mark in one or more areas.
These notices provide an opportunity for families and teachers to work together to support student progress before the final report card is issued. If your child receives a notice, please review it and reach out to your child's teacher with any questions or to discuss ways to support improvement.

🎓 Save the Date — Middle School & CHOICES Information Session
Thinking ahead to middle school? Please join us on Monday, September 28, at 8:30 a.m. in the Auditorium as we welcome Ms. Shira Scherb, Region North Strategic Enrollment and PSA Counselor.
Ms. Scherb will share information about LAUSD CHOICES programs, middle school options, and the application process. All interested families are welcome!
